The Legend of Zelda

I made it to the last day of the A to Z Challenge! Day 26 is about The Legend of Zelda! (Click here for a full list of topics)

The first Zelda game I ever played was Ocarina of Time. My brother got the game when he got his Nintendo 64 for either his birthday or Christmas. I can’t remember which. Him and I both played for countless hours. I never beat the game, because I tend to start over if I stop playing a game for too long, but my brother has beaten it multiple times. I think he has even completed it (done all the side quests as well as beating the main storyline in one play through of the game).

Ocarina of Time

When my brother got a GameCube, it came with a compilation disc that had The Legend of Zelda, Zelda 2: The Adventure of Link, Ocarina of Time, and Majora’s Mask. It also had a 20-minute demo of The Wind Waker. We played the demo so many times just to see if we could get further into the game than the last time before the 20 minutes ran out. Eventually, we got the actual game and were able to play it in it’s entirety. Wind Waker is one of the few games that I can say I have beaten. Although my brother doesn’t believe me, so I borrowed it a few months ago to beat it again so I can show him 😛 But I have yet to finish because, well, I’m an adult now and life.

Majora's Mask

My favourite Zelda game, from an artistic point of view, is Majora’s Mask. The story is dark and the world is dark yet the game is still lighthearted and fun. I will admit, I suck at Majora’s Mask. I have never gotten very far. But what I have played of it has been really fun.

I really need to work on actually beating games…

Anyway, The Legend of Zelda is my favourite video game series. And one of these days I will beat more than one of the games! (Promise!)

What’s your favourite video game? And what’s your favourite Zelda title?

Thank you to everyone who has come around for the A to Z Challenge! It has been a fun (and busy) month of blogging 🙂

Y is for YouTube

What else is there to do while eating lunch than watch YouTube videos? Seriously, what?

Day 25 of the A to Z Challenge is about YouTube and the many YouTuber’s I love to watch! (Click here for a full list of topics)

Sometimes I wish I could go back in time to when YouTube first began and start putting up videos. Then maybe I would be a YouTuber today, making money by making videos. Wouldn’t that be awesome? As it is, I only have a few videos up of my ratties and my dog. I have 4 subscribers. Woo! Go me!

My favourite thing to do while I eat my lunch each day is to watch YouTube. It’s a nice break in between all the stuff I need to do in the day and gets my mind off of whatever I was working on before getting my lunch ready. I have a bunch of channels that I am subscribed to and a few favourite YouTubers that I watch religiously.

My favourite YouTubers, in no particular order, are:

Grace Helbig – She is just that nice kind of awkward weird funny that I like.

Grace Helbig

Hannah Hart – My Drunk Kitchen is hilarious and Hannah is just a wonderful human being.

Hannah Hart

PeanutButterGamer – His Let’s Play channel can be absolutely hilarious and his main channel as well.

JonTron – He makes very silly gaming videos with his bird, Jacques.

Rhett and Link – Their weekday show Good Mythical Morning can be equal parts entertaining and gross (They do food challenges sometimes…).

Rhett and Link

I have more YouTubers that I watch, but these are the ones I watch more often and enjoy the most!

Who are your favourite YouTubers and why?

Exterminate – Doctor Who

“Exterminate! Exterminate!” “Delete! Delete!” “Moisturize me!” “DON’T BLINK!”

I freaking love Doctor Who, so day 24 of the A to Z Challenge is naturally about it! (click here for a full list of topics)

A few years ago, I spotted Doctor Who on Netflix and decided to give it a try because I had seen so many people talk about it all over the Internet. I watched the first season within a few days and started on the second season before telling my husband that he HAD to watch it because it was fantastic. I started again on the first episode so that my husband and I could watch it together and it became basically an obsession for the two of us.

The Tenth Doctor

At first the regeneration of the Doctor was disorienting and weird, but eventually the tenth Doctor became my favourite. His interactions with and love for Rose Tyler was amazingly done and I actually cried while watching the episode called Doomsday. Although the tenth Doctor is my favourite, I’ve enjoyed every Doctor and every companion (even Ricky, I mean Mickey! :P) and every episode (some more than others).

Weeping Angel

Don’t blink!!

My favourite “bad guys” are the Weeping Angels. They freak the heck out of me, I’m not ashamed to admit. And yes, I have had Weeping Angel nightmares. A close second for bad guys is, of course, the Master (especially the recent incarnation). “The drumming, Doctor, the constant drumming.” But, of course, I cannot go without mentioning the Daleks! “Exterminate!”

I cannot wait for the ninth season of Doctor Who to start! Hurrrrrry up! (And Maisie Williams (Arya Stark on Game of Thrones) is going to be on the show!) Allons-Y!

Who is your favourite incarnation of the Doctor (old and new series)? And who is your favourite companion?

How the heck did I not mention Captain Jack Harkness in this whole post??

Captain Jack Harkness

Hmm, I also didn’t mention the TARDIS…

Or a million other things…
